I believe that coaching, mentoring, facilitation and lecturing, when done well, echo the three creative powers of Shakti - it illuminates, motivates and empowers. Guided by this conviction, I work with organisation and individuals for performance and meaning, working with teams and individuals to become more effective in what they do, and also to find satisfaction and fulfilment in the doing.
I am a lover of all things purple and sparkly. A believer in human goodness, kindness and potential in spite of the condition of the world. I am an eternal searcher of my truth. I believe that every person I meet, and every experience I have, holds a fragment of truth, a piece of the cosmic puzzle. The satisfaction of discovering these truths, and slotting them into place, is one of the great motivating forces in my life.
Over many years, I’ve combined the knowledge and skills I gathered while working for a number of small to medium business enterprises to create a meaningful offering that I can share through training, mentoring, coaching and facilitation. Some of the puzzle pieces that make up my work experience are:
managing and leading teams and individuals from a range of roles and disciplines, including software developers, project managers, designers, copy writers, call centres, government organisations.
implementing Agile, Scrum and working as a Scrum Master and Product Owner.
project managing national and international mobile and digital projects.
contributing as a member of a management steering committee.
training, on-boarding and mentoring team members, partners and suppliers.
designing and implementing training workshops, content and strategies.
I have also had the opportunity to work with, and learn from, a variety of stakeholders - these include international super brands, like Cadbury, and Caltex, South African legends, like OMO and Vodacom and major donors, including UNICEF and government departments across the African continent.
My relevant formal qualifications include:
Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology and International Politics (UNISA)
Certificate in Coaching Practice where I achieved a distinction, came top of my class and won the ‘Best Student’ award (University of Stellenbosch Business School NQF8)
Facilitator Techniques (Growing Agile)
Certified Scrum Master and Advanced Scrum Master courses (Scrum Sense CC and Growing Agile)
Programme in Project Management (University of Stellenbosch Business School)
Certificate Programme in Business Analysis (Faculty Training Institute)
Through my skills and experience in training, coaching, mentoring and facilitation, I am confident of my ability to guide and support individuals towards more fulfilling lives and careers, and to contribute to happier, more effective teams and workplaces. Of course, there’s no wand that magically creates the perfect career, or exemplary employees, but with skill and enthusiasm as well as commitment and discipline from those I engage with, I believe, together, we can bring about positive behavioural changes that impact the individuals and the workplace.
I believe in the value of continuous learning, whether through training, coaching, mentoring or facilitation. Learning, failure, achievement and fulfilment are inseparable. We have to constantly and consciously learn, and even unlearn, to allow ourselves to live our best lives, now. To embrace that which empowers, transforms and enables a life of meaning, growth and purpose, to embrace Shakti.
